Compared to last week most weights of steers sold 10.00 higher except 8 weights sold 4.00 higher. Different story on the heifer market, as they sold 4.00 to 5.00 lower on the week. Slaughter cows and bulls sold steady to 2.00 higher. Demand was good. Steer calves continue to be sought after from yearling operations. Steers can gain more on grass and are always open! Getting harder to find a vet to spay heifers so, ranchers must have extra good fences and know thy neighbor to keep impeding bulls out of range of there open heifers. Might be why the steer market continue to get higher? Dryness looms over most of the state with snow at high elevations and little to no moisture at the lower levels. Adequate supplies of hay still left to sell across the state.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Wyoming barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
