Compared to last week steers less than 500 lbs sold 15.00 to 20.00 higher, over 500 lbs sold 4.00 to 10.00 lower with the most decline on weights over 700 lbs. Fly-weight heifers sold sharply higher. Heifers from 400 to 700 lbs sold 3.00 to 6.00 higher and over 700 lbs sold steady to 5.00 higher. Slaughter and feeding cows sold steady to 4.00 higher and slaughter bulls sold steady. Grass cattle continue to be sought after at the auctions. Many yearling operators wait until now to purchase their cattle to save on winter feed and they don't have to wean them. Sticker shock! One must sharpen their pencil to figure out if they will work coming off summer grass. Mother Nature needs to step it up and give the state must needed moisture. Heavy wet snow or rains are needed in a large area.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Wyoming barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
