Compared to last week steers and heifers sold unevenly steady. Slaughter cows sold 8.00 to 10.00 higher and slaughter bulls sold 6.00 higher. Demand was good throughout the week. Artic air mass blew in across the region over the weekend lasting through mid-week. With temperatures below zero and very cold windchills didn't freeze the mood for buyers to purchase livestock. Short supply of calves, feeders and slaughter cattle making it a perfect storm for the sellers as buyers are really having to bid up to get orders filled. Bullish cattle on feed report with new record slaughter steer and heifer prices as week's close should carry over and there could be higher prices paid next week at area auctions.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Wyoming barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
