Compared to last week steers and heifers less than 600 lbs sold sharply higher. Steers over 600 lbs sold steady to 4.00 higher. Heifers over 600 lbs sold unevenly steady. Slaughter cows sold 6.00 to 10.00 and slaughter bulls sold 7.00 lower. Demand was moderate to instance good on calves and feeder cattle with moderate demand for slaughter cattle. Hot dry weather continues across most of the state with a few spotty rain showers. Just starting to get some bawling calves to the market. Most buyers are looking for fall vaccinations that include a respiratory and are either modified live or a live vaccine. Cattle on feed, On feed for Sep 1 101%, Aug Placed 99% and Aug Marketed 96%.
