Compared to last week, steers sold 2.00 to 4.00 lower and heifers sold steady on a light test. Slaughter cows and bulls steady. Demand was moderate to good. Dry conditions prevail across the state with few fires, but many producers are not concerned about it right now. Abundance amount of hay and other forages sitting along the roadside and farmer/feeders are piling up large piles of silage for backgrounding calves or feeding their herds. If dryness continues throughout the year and into next there could be liquidations of some mother cows or ewes as pastures will not have regrowth.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Wyoming barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
