Compared to last week, steer calves under 600 lbs sold 3.00 to 8.00 higher, over 600 lbs sold steady to 2.00 higher. Not enough yearling steers for a market comparison. Heifer calves under 600 lbs sold 3.00 to 8.00 higher, with 600 lbs offerings trading 2.00 to 4.00 higher. Yearling heifers sold 2.00 to 5.00 higher with the most advance on preg checked open heifers. Slaughter and feeding cows traded steady to 2.00 higher. Slaughter bulls 1.00 to 2.00 higher. A large offering of all classes of cows with the majority of the cows returning to the country. Demand was good for all offerings through the ring. Most of the calves were bawlers, that were preconditioned, looked bloomy, clean and open haired with most weigh up conditions in the buyers favor. Most offerings weighing several pounds lighter than last year due to the lack of summer and fall grass consumption. Same week last year, 23% of the calves weighed over 600 lbs and more calves in the mid 500 lbs range.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Wyoming barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
