Compared to last week's heavy supply of bawling calves, flyweight steer and heifer calves sold 10.00 higher, steers over 400 lbs sold steady to 2.00 higher and the heifers sold steady. Slaughter cows sold unevenly steady and slaughter bulls weak. Quite a few of the cows and bulls displayed extra fill as Mother Nature was preparing them for the weekend winter storm. Quite a few of the bawling calves had precondition shots and came to the barn the day before the sale. Monday's sale this week was a bred cows special with the prices and ages at the bottom of this report. With the feed and grazing shortage in the trade area many reports of quite a lot of bred and open cows will make there way to town.
