Compared to last week, slaughter cows and bulls sold unevenly steady. Not enough feeder cattle for a market comparison. Demand was moderate to good. Hot dry weather pattern continues across the cowboy state. Only green items are trees and fields where irrigation is prevalent. Very light snow was reported in the high elevations last weekend. Most think it's way too early for snow and cold weather to appear! The fall run is right around the corner as Torrington Livestock is holding there annual Labor Day Special sale on Monday and will have a very large sale of yearlings and fresh bawling calves. Some of the calves are coming to town over a month earlier than normal due to the drought.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
