Compared to last week: Feeder steers under 800 lbs 2.00 to 5.00 higher, instances of 8.00 to 10.00 higher, over 800 lbs steady to 2.00 lower. Feeder heifers under 800 lbs 2.00 to 7.00 higher, instances 8.00 to 10.00 higher, over 800 lbs unevenly steady. Very good demand for all weights of steers and heifers, all sales were back to their regular sale schedule after the arctic temps a week ago and had a large receipts as the weather was beautiful. Cash fed cattle market topped at 199.00, CME Live and Cattle Futures were lower by late week, but with corn futures lower and the hope for higher fats this spring, cattle feeders were feeling very optimistic and were chasing the market higher. As the temps jumped up to nearly 60 degrees, the ground got soft and it was harder to keep cattle clean. There were more replacement quality heifers offered, there is a lot of demand presently for these heifers as the feeder cattle market is so strong.
