Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers unevenly steady on a limited offering week. Demand for yearlings good still but as the cash fed cattle market slipped down to the 100.00 mark, back below profitability, and the CME Live Cattle futures lower as well, cattle feeders were much more reserved in their approach to the market. The best demand remains on those light fleshed yearlings right off grass as the compensatory gain these cattle will make once they hit feed results in a lower cost of gain. Drought conditions continue across the state and cattle coming off grass now because of the short grass conditions. Slaughter cows steady to 1.00 higher, bulls 1.00 to 2.00 higher.
