Compared to last week: Feeder steers under 650 lbs steady to 2.00 higher, over 650 lbs 2.00 to 5.00 lower, heifers under 650 lbs 2.00 to 4.00 higher, over 650 lbs 2.00 to 5.00 lower. Good demand this week for light fleshed steers and heifers under 600 lbs, only moderate demand for heavier steers and heifers. The large decline in the CME Live Cattle futures contracts really pressured the market this week as the April contract rolled down below 120.00 and the back months under 110.00. This large pullback is causing much concern that large losses could be looming for cattle feeders again. Slaughter cows and bulls mostly steady.
