Compared to last week: Yearling feeder steers 2.00 to 5.00 higher, yearling feeder heifers 2.00 to 4.00 higher. Steer calves 3.00 to 7.00 higher, instances of 10.00-14.00 higher on 400-450 lbs, heifer calves 2.00 to 4.00 higher instances to 10.00 higher on 400-450 lbs. Very good demand for yearlings as the supply of yearlings off grass tightens and the cash fed cattle market moves higher and the futures contracts followed. Light to moderate demand for calves as most farmer feeders aren't ready to receive a calf yet as they haven't begun their corn harvest yet and are just starting soybean harvest. Snow storm last week caused many consignment cancellations and rescheduling of auctions. This wet weather made feedyard pens even worse than they already are, this is affecting calf demand as well. Slaughter cows steady to 3.00 lower, bulls 1.00 lower. Much larger calf offering expected next week.
