For NASS: 1,074 cows and bulls sold with 59 percent going to packers; Last week: 1,265 with 64 percent going to packers; Last year: 2,065 with 41 percent going to packers.

Compared to last week: Feeder steers mostly steady to 3.00 lower. Feeder heifers steady to 4.00 lower. Demand light to moderate for all classes. Steer and heifer calves not well tested this week with light receipts, but higher undertones were noted. Slaughter cows not well tested, but instances of 15.00-18.00 higher. Slaughter bulls also not well tested due to light receipts, but instances of 15.00-20.00 higher. Many barns experienced lighter runs this week due to rain across the state and the holiday weekend. More rain is possible for many parts of the trading area next week.
