Nebraska Weekly Livestock Auction Summary

USDA Livestock, Poultry & Grain Market News · Federal-State Market News Service, Kearney, NE (LS-WH)
Receipts 27,573Last week 23,975Year ago 35,753

Compared to last week, steer calves less than 600 lbs sold 20.00 higher. Over 600 lbs sold steady to 8.00 higher. Most heifer calves sold 20.00 higher, except 5 weights sold 5.00 higher. Yearlings sold 4.00 to 7.00 higher. Demand was good to very good throughout the week. Unbelievable is the best way to describe the market this month. Who would have thought the fall cash market would outsell most of the summer video sales and the prices this summer were bell ringers, record breakers! Some of the lightweight calves are headed to the Southern Plains that will be turned out on wheat or some type of winter grazing. Even the feedlots saw a nice upward swing in the cash market. Might have been better if the CME cattle boards didn't fall off due to AI driven sell offs on Friday. Dressed sales sold 10.00 higher at 372.00 and live sales sold 5.00 to 6.00 higher at 240.00.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Nebraska barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
