Compared to last week steers less than 500 lbs sold sharply higher on a thin test. 500 to 700 lbs sold steady, 700 to 900 lbs sold 6.00 to 10.00 higher and over 900 lbs sold fully steady. Most heifers sold 7.00 to 10.00 higher. Demand was good to very good for the short supply of reported cattle. Area feedlot trade would be rather steady on the week, with live sales at 245.00 and dressed sales at 385.00 with a few up to 292.00. One would hate to cuss rain showers, but some areas of the state are flooded due to heavy rains over the Labor Day weekend. Some areas received 3" to 10" of rain at one time. Ugg. Other dry spots are prevailing in some areas of the state wishing they could get some rain. Some feedlots are starting on silage chopping as the calendar flipped to September preparing for the next years feed supply.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Nebraska barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
