Compared to last week steers less than 700 lbs sold 15.00 higher, over 700 lbs sold unevenly steady. Heifers under 500 lbs sold 7.00 higher, 500 to 700 lbs sold 8.00 to 10.00 higher over 700 lbs sold steady to 10.00 higher. Demand was mostly good for all offerings sold throughout the week. As the time sprung forward so did the prices of calves and feeder cattle. Most prices are already at new highs but somehow, the calf and feeder sales continue to go higher. Help from the CME feeder cattle boards, feeder index and live cattle boards continue to add optimism to the cattle sector. Feedlots appear to be mostly current, and packers know that market ready numbers more than likely will be getting tighter going forward. Packers tried to down play the market situation but came out on the short end of the stick as cattle feeders held tough through Friday and sold dressed cattle 8.00 to 10.00 higher at 325.00 and live sales sold 4.00 to 6.00 higher at 206.00.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Nebraska barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
