Compared to last week, fly weight steers sold sharply higher, 400 to 700 lbs sold steady to 6.00 higher, over 700 lbs sold 2.00 to 5.00 higher. Heifers less than 700 lbs sold steady to 3.00 higher, 7 weight heifers sold 8.00 higher and over 800 lbs sold steady to 4.00 higher. Demand was good to very good throughout the week on a relatively light supply of calves and feeders. Some bawling fall calves hitting the market along with longtime weaned cattle. Some of the bangs vaccinated heifers one would think would be bred this summer for replacements are heading to the feedlot to back fill empty pens of slaughter cattle. Snow across western 2/3rd of the state last week with some area getting 18" of wet snow. Feedlot trade live FOB sales traded 1.50-2.00 higher from 185.00-186.00, mostly at 185.00 and dressed delivered sales traded at 2.00-10.00 higher from 292.00-300.00.
