Compared to last week's thin supply, yearling steers sold 2.00 to 6.00 higher and yearling heifers sold steady to 5.00 higher. Demand was light to moderate through midweek with moderate to good demand by weeks close. Brutal hot temperatures early in the week softened the demand for feeder cattle especially those with a little extra flesh coming out of backgrounding lots. Those cattle off summer grass buyers still sought out to purchase most of the week. Heat index was in the 100's with very little air movement most of the week. Nice cool down on Friday and over the weekend should help cattle recoup from last week's heat. Nebraska feedlots traded some show-list cattle steady to 3.00 lower on live sales at 185.00 and dressed sales sold steady to 2.00 lower from 292.00 to 295.00.
