Compared to last week, steers over 800 lbs sold steady to 3.00 lower. Heifers over 700 lbs sold steady to 4.00 lower all on a thin test. Lexington livestock market was the only reporting sale this week. Demand was good for yearlings coming off summer grass. Nebraska feedlot trade was slow to get going all week long. Feedlots did manage to trade near 19,000 head of negotiated cash sales. Dressed sales unevenly steady at 295.00 and live sales .50 to 3.00 lower from 185.00 to 187.50. Some silage chopping has started on dryland crops across some areas of the state. Cattle on Feed August 1: 98% on Feed, Placed 92% and Marketed at 95%. Disappearances for Nebraska on feedlots greater than 1000 head came in at 15,000 head for July.
