Compared to last week steers under 700 lbs sold 1.00 to 2.00 lower, over 700 lbs sold steady to 4.00 lower. Heifers under 700 lbs sold 2.00 to 4.00 higher and over 700 lbs sold unevenly steady. Demand was good for all weights of cattle with several order and farmer/feeder buyers on the seats. Some internet bidding and buying also took place. End of August and silage chopping is almost in full swing across the state. Several chopper have been busy in the eastern and south central areas of the state. Dry hay sales have been rather stagnate in most areas of the state. The best demand has been in the Panhandle as pastures are very dry and brown. Nebraska slaughter cattle slipped back a tick this week with live sales at 105.00 and dressed sales from 166.00 to 167.00.
