Compared to last week steer calves sold 2.00 to 3.00 higher, yearlings from 700 to 900 lbs 1.00 to 4.00 lower and over 900 lbs sold 6.00 to 9.00 lower. Heifers calves sold 7.00 to 9.00 lower, yearlings sold 2.00 to 6.00 lower except 900 lbs offerings sold steady. Demand was moderate to good. Very dry weather pattern in several areas of the state brought light weight fall calves along with a few bawling calves and yearlings to town as cattlemen are trying to preserve pastures and hope they will have regrowth before the plants go dormant this fall. Nebraska feedlot sales sold 2.00 lower at 102.00-103.00 live and dressed sales sold 3.00 to 4.00 lower from 162.00 to 164.00. Some contacts stated several pens will not be shipped out until two weeks. Fall silage chopping is in full swing across the state. Many reports of several acres of corn and cane will be chopped and piled for the next year cattle feeding.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Nebraska barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
