Compared to last week steers and heifers suited for summer turnout sold unevenly steady. Steers going to the feedlot sold 3.00 lower to 8.00 lower and heifers going to the feedlot sold 3.00 to 4.00 lower. Demand was good for grass cattle, especially those lighter weight calves that are being shipped to the Southern Plains for graze out wheat pastures or going to be turn out locally this summer. Demand was moderate for feedlot placements. Quite a few of the feedlot placements are going to farmer/feeders in Nebraska and the surrounding states. Seasonally weather this week has allowed feedlots to clean pens and spread manure to cornfields before spring tillage starts. Some farmers have been spreading dry fertilizer on grass pastures and tillable fields. Snow is in the forecast across some areas of the state and accumulations should be melted off next week as daytime highs could hit the 50-60 degrees next week.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Nebraska barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
