Compared to last week steers under 700 lbs sold steady, over 700 to 900 lbs sold 5.00 lower. Heifers under 800 lbs sold unevenly steady, over 800 lbs sold 6.00 to 7.00 lower. Last Friday through Monday cattle sales were up beat and demand was good. But after Monday's close on the CME cattle boards and there being no reporting auctions in Nebraska on Tuesday, buyers had an extra day to think about the sudden sell off on the CME. Wednesday, many buyers were hesitant to jump into the market on the feeder cattle but, the longer the sales went buyers started to participate at a more willing pace. Cattle condition ranged from thin fleshed to fleshy and several consignments of cattle displayed a lot of "tag" (mud) as pen conditions are sloppy and muddy across majority of Nebraska. The bulk of the feedlot sales have not traded as of the release of this report. However, a few willing sellers sold at 121.00-123.00 live and 194.00-195.00 dressed, with head counts through Thursday afternoon at 4,900 head.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Nebraska barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
