Compared to last week steers under 600 lbs sold steady to 4.00 higher, steers over 600 lbs and all weights of heifers sold steady. Slaughter cows sold steady to 3.00 higher. Demand was moderate to good for all reported livestock with a large crowds of buyers in attendance and some auctions had high internet buying. Some yearling operators once again procured light weight cattle to be turned out of winter grazing or held over for summer pasture. Several partial or complete dispersal's of bred cows in the last seven days. Buyers bid readily at the bred heifer and cow auctions as many producers are down on total herd numbers due to last years spring storms and from a high percentage of open cows last fall. Nebraska feedlots traded steady with last week's market at 199.00 dressed and 124.00 live.
