Compared to last weeks thin test of feeder cattle, this weeks heavy supply sold steers under 600 lbs 8.00 to 10.00 higher, over 600 lbs sold mostly steady to 1.00 higher. Heifers under 600 lbs sold 3.00 to 6.00 higher and weights over 600 lbs sold steady. Demand was good for packages and loads lots of mostly longtime weaned one iron calves and feeder cattle. Several loads of the light weight calves are going to be run on winter grazing and more than likely will be run as summer yearlings. Most auctions had a large crowd of order buyers with some farmer/feeder buyers procuring cattle this fist full week of the New Year. As of this writing, feedlot sales remain inactive as most sellers are priced at higher money than last week. Last week, feedlot sales traded from 198.00-200.00 dressed and live sales at 124.00.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Nebraska barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
