Compared to last week, steer calves sold steady to 2.00 higher with feeder steers 3.00 to 6.00 higher. Heifer calves sold 2.00 to 4.00 higher with feeder heifers 3.00 to mostly 6.00 higher. Demand was very good for yearlings off of grass with good demand for bawling spring calves. Most of the calves had pre-condition shots which buyers are looking for. Many buyers compile lots of cattle from various places and they feel like these shots help keep freshly weaned calves healthier than non fall vaccinated animals. Cooler temps and rain across different sections of the Corn-husker state has slowed harvest down. Many farmers are on the sidelines hoping sunny weather will prevail in this weekend and they can continue combining. Feedlot sales remains inactive at press time of this report.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Nebraska barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
