Compared to last week, on comparable offerings of steers under 600 lbs sold steady, 600 to 800 lbs sold 8.00 to 15.00 lower and over 800 lbs sold steady to 4.00 lower. Heifers under 600 lbs sold 2.00 to 3.00 lower and over 600 lbs sold 5.00 to 10.00 lower. Demand was moderate to good for grass cattle with good demand for cow/calf pairs. Nebraska feedlots had a moderate trade on Thursday with live sales trading 3.00 to 4.00 lower at 117.00 and dressed sales sold 3.00 to 10.00 lower from 185.00-186.00. Few, of these sales will deliver the first week in June and this price looks pretty good when comparing it to the June board. Busy week for farmers as most fields have dried enough to run planters but plantings continue to run behind last year. So, far around 46% of the corn is planted compared to 68% last year. Soybeans 20% completed which is only 17% less than last year.
