North Dakota Weekly Cattle Auction Summary

Compared to last week: Feeder steers unevenly steady, heifers 7.00 to 15.00 higher. Very good demand for all weights of steers and heifers, best demand on heifers were those of replacement quality. The market was incredibly active on those light weight, yearling making steers and heifers and for those replacement worthy heifers. Cattle to grow into yearlings are more limited in numbers, compared to the bigger cattle bound for feedyards, which is keeping the light cattle market red hot. Plenty of buyers on the seats wanting to buy a heifer to breed as there is rampant optimism amongst cattle producers.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the North Dakota barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
