North Dakota Weekly Cattle Auction Summary

Mon Nov 3, 2025
USDA Livestock, Poultry & Grain Market News · Federal-State Market News Service, Bismarck, ND (LS-BM)
Receipts 11,558Last week 7,446Year ago 10,111

Compared to last week: Steer calves 10.00 to 30.00 lower, except 600-700 lbs 30.00 to 40.00 lower. Heifer calves 20.00 to 40.00 lower. Moderate to good demand for steer and heifer calves as the volatility in the CME cattle futures complex is making it very difficult for cattle feeders to have confidence in the market. As the futures contracts swing wildly throughout the day and the week, cattle feeders are are unsure at what price levels to buy these good calves at. Cash fed cattle traded down to 225.00 this week, with the CME Live Cattle futures lower and the back months of the board lower yet.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the North Dakota barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
