Compared to last week: Steer and heifer calves 15.00 to 30.00 lower. Good demand for steer and heifer calves, yet there continues to be a lot of pressure on the market coming from the volatility in the futures complex. It seemed the futures contracts had found some stable ground at midweek, but triple digit losses returned by Friday. There is plenty of interest in buying these good light calves, while they are available, yet cattle feeders are very uncertain as to what a realistic breakeven price could be.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the North Dakota barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
