No reported auctions a week ago to offer a comparison, much higher undertones compared to the single auction location reported two weeks ago. Very good demand for all weights of feeder steers and heifers as the CME Live and Feeder Cattle futures climbs higher as they try to keep pace with the rapidly rising cash fed cattle market. With the summer grazing season fast approaching, the best demand and most market activity is seen on those steers and heifers in light enough weight and flesh to grow as a yearling on grass. Yearling operators are willing to chase the market and compete very heavily to get the light cattle bought that they need. There has been some rain across the state, which helped to support the market for these light cattle as well as the winter and spring have been incredibly dry.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the North Dakota barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
