Compared to last week: Steer calves 3.00 to 8.00 higher, heifer calves sold with higher undertones, comparison too narrow for complete dollar comparison. Very good demand for spring born calves as farm as yearling operators had a very profitable year and want to get these light calves bought while they are available. Farmer feeders have made good progress with their corn harvest, and with the mild weather are willing to take on the extra work right now to start a set of calves on feed. The dry conditions in Western ND is pushing cattle to town a little earlier this year. Cash fed cattle up to 189.00 this week is building bullish psychology amongst cattle producers as the cash market continues to outperform the futures contracts.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the North Dakota barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
