Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers 3.00 to 8.00 lower. Moderate to good demand this week, much less demand for heavier weight cattle suitable only for finishing. The market was under a great amount of pressure this week from outside markets and from the rapidly declining CME cattle futures contracts. Cattle feeders were left reeling after the futures contracts closed limit, or nearly limit, lower on Monday and slipped further lower as the week progressed. With Apr Live Cattle below 110.00 and Jun below 103.00 there is great concern that fed cattle will lose large amounts of money.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the North Dakota barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
