North Dakota Weekly Cattle Auction Summary

Compared to last week: Only one reported auction this week, higher undertones evident for feeder steers and heifers. Good demand for yearling steers and heifers as the cash fed cattle market has rebounded and the futures contracts have followed along. Cattle feeders are eager to place yearlings on feed while they are available. Cattle feeders are much more optimistic about the coming months in the fed cattle market and are willing to chase the market to get cattle bought. Few cattle offered for sale this week due to the snow and rain that made it difficult to get cattle hauled to town. Larger auction receipts expected next week.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the North Dakota barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
