Compared to last week: The best test for yearling steers was for 800-949 lbs which sold fully steady. All other steers were too lightly tested

either this week or last to develop any market trend. Yearling heifers 800-999 lbs sold mostly 2.00-4.00 higher. All other weights of heifers

were too lightly tested either this week or last to develop an accurate market trend. Demand for yearlings and calves was mostly moderate to

good. All offerings were in light flesh this week as most were coming off grass or out of dry country. Quality this week was average to very

attractive on heifers and mostly average on steers. CME positions showed several days of gains this week adding to buyer confidence. As of

yesterdays close CME contracts for September, October and November traded at 139.175, 139.60, and 140.40 respectfully. That is a gain of

1.575 on the September, 1.275 on the October and 1.025 on the November. Buyer attendance was strong throughout the week with many

active bidders and buyers participating. Market activity was mostly moderate to active as a result. Weigh up cows sold on light to moderate

demand for mostly light offerings. Packers continue to show light demand for all cows on offer. Feeding buyers purchased the majority of the

cows this week. Slaughter cows sold steady to weak on boning and lean cows. Breaking cows were too lightly tested to trend, as most sold to

feeding buyers. Feeding cows sold steady to weak. Cows offered better weigh conditions this week compared to last. Slaughter bulls sold

steady to 2.00 lower. Demand for re-breed type cattle continues to be limited and most of these offerings sold as feeding cows again this

week. Quality was average.
