Compared to last report (6-26-20): Yearling steers sold mostly 5.00-10.00 higher. Yearling heifers sold mostly 13.00-18.00 higher in a narrow

comparison. Most yearlings were coming off grass and were in light flesh. Demand was mostly moderate to good for moderate offerings.

Quality this week was average to attractive. The best demand this week was for yearlings offered in load lots. Packages of yearlings sold on

moderate demand. CME positions showed strong improvements since last reported sale. As of this Thursday's settlement the August feeder

cattle contract closed at 144.95, 11.70 higher than the close June 26th. Buyer attendance was good this week with many buyers actively

bidding on offerings. Market activity was mostly active as a result. Weigh up cows sold on mostly mixed demand this week. Early in the week

demand was good for both feeding and slaughter cows, however, demand diminished sharply as the week progressed. With over a month

since the last reported sale and with mixed prices seen this week, an accurate market trend can not be established on feeding cows, slaughter

cows or bulls. Several buyers purchased feeding bulls this week. This helped improve bull prices on thinner, lower dressing bulls under 2,000

lbs. Demand for re-breed type cattle was limited and most of these offerings sold as feeding cows this week. Quality was average.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Montana barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
