noticed. The best test for feeder heifers was for 650-749 lbs which sold mostly 6.00-9.00 higher. All other feeder heifers were too lightly

tested to last week to develop an accurate market trend, however higher undertones were noticed. Quality this week was mostly plain to

continues to improve. CME positions since last report have seen a slow and steady increase in price. As of Thursdays settlements the August

Thursday was 457,000 head compared to 330,000 head last week and 482,000 head last year. Young age cows suitable to feed or re-breed

sold steady to 5.00 lower. Lighter demand was seen this week for re-breed type cows which allowed prices to slip lower. Quality was average

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Montana barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
