Compared to last week: Feeder steers 500-649 lbs sold 10.00-20.00 lower, steers over 650 lbs not well compared. Heifer calves 500-649 lbs

sold steady to 12.00 lower. Heifers over 650 lbs were not well tested last week, however lower undertones were noticed. Demand was mostly

light to moderate. Demand started the week mostly moderate but slipped as CME positions slipped late in the week. Offerings were light to

moderate. CME positions traded sideways early in the week however prices traded down sharply on Wednesday with limit losses and

Thursday with expanded limits. Feeder cattle futures as Thursdays settlements showed the April contract at 110.675, and May at 111.65,

which is 14.425 and 13.775 lower respectfully from last Thursdays close to this Thursdays close. The August contract closed at 117.65. Market

activity this week was mostly moderate. Weigh up cows sold on mostly very light to light demand for light offerings. Packers showed mostly

very light demand for cows for immediate harvest. Daily slaughter totals have backed off almost daily since the beginning of the week. As of

Thursday, this week's slaughter was 17,000 head lighter than last weeks record large slaughter. Slaughter cows sold sharply lower with all

classes of cows selling mostly 7.00-14.00 lower than last week. The best demand for cows this week was for fed or fleshy cows which feeding

buyers purchased to return to the country. Feeding cows sold 5.00-8.00 lower. Cow quality was mostly average to attractive this week.

Slaughter bulls sold mostly 7.00-10.00 lower. Young age cows suitable to feed or re-breed sold mostly 5.00 lower. Quality this week was

mostly average. Demand from feeding buyers remains moderate. Buyers are resorting to feeding two year olds as they are cost effective
