Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers were too lightly tested last week to develop an accurate market trend, however higher

undertones were noticed on all weights and classes of feeder cattle. Demand was mostly moderate and improved significantly compared to

last week. Offerings were very light. CME positions have moved higher almost daily as demand from retailers has been outstanding. Boxed

beef prices saw a $35.88 rise in choice product while select rose $33.67 from the previous week. Feeder cattle futures as Thursdays

settlements showed the March contract at 130.80, April at 125.10, and May at 125.425, which is 13.72, 10.975 and 12.40 higher respectfully

from last Thursdays close to this Thursdays close. Market activity this week was mostly moderate. Weigh up cows sold on mostly good to very

good demand for mostly light offerings. Packers showed mostly very good demand for cows for immediate harvest. Boning and lean cows

sold mostly 3.00-5.00 higher. Breaking cows sold mostly 2.00-3.00 higher. Feeding cows sold mostly steady to 3.00 higher. Cow quality was

mostly average to attractive. Slaughter bulls sold mostly steady to 2.00 higher in a narrow comparison. Young age cows suitable to feed or rebreed sold mostly steady to 5.00 higher. Quality this week was mostly average to attractive. Demand improved this week led mostly by

feeding cow demand due to higher fed cattle prices.
