Compared to last week: Feeder steers were all too lightly tested this week to develop an accurate market trend, however steady undertones

were noticed. Feeder heifers were too lightly tested to develop an accurate market trend, however lower undertones were noticed. Quality

this week was mostly plain, to average and significantly lower than last week. Demand was mostly light to moderate with quality as a big

limiting factor on demand. Offerings were light. CME positions continue to see very volatile movement. Feeder cattle futures as Thursdays

settlements showed the April contract at 119.525, May at 118.95, and August at 128.875 which is 8.85, 7.30, and 11.225 higher respectfully

from last Thursdays close to this Thursdays close. Market activity this week was mostly slow. Weigh up cows sold on mostly light demand for

light to moderate offerings. Packers showed light demand for both feeding and slaughter cows this week. Slaughter cows sold mostly 2.00-

6.00 lower on lean and boning cows, breaking cows were too lightly tested to develop an accurate market trend, however lower undertones

were noticed. Feeding cows sold mostly 4.00-9.00 lower. Packer demand for feeding cows was very light this week. Cow quality was mostly

plain to average. Weigh up conditions were average. Slaughter bulls sold mostly mostly 4.00-6.00 lower. Estimated slaughter has been lighter

than a week ago again this week. Week to date slaughter this week was 417,000 compared to 467,000 last week and 475,000 head last year.

Young age cows suitable to feed or re-breed remains moderate as feeding demand continues to support this class of cows due to low cost.

Young age cows sold steady to 2.00 lower. Quality this week was mostly average.
