Compared to last week: Yearling steers sold mostly 1.00-3.00 higher. Yearling heifers sold mostly 4.00-8.00 higher. Demand was moderate to good on mostly moderate offerings. CME positions continue to improve this week giving buyers increased confidence as they bid on offerings. Yearling quality was mixed again this week from plain to attractive. Most offerings are coming straight off grass, however a few offerings did spend a short stint in the feedlot before being marketed. Flesh conditions were mostly light this week with a few backgrounded offerings showing light to moderate flesh. Several load lots were seen this week and these offerings were met with the best demand. Many large to medium sized packages of yearlings were seen this week as well making it easy for buyers to piece together loads. Market activity this week was mostly active. Many buyers were on hand at all the sales actively bidding on offerings. Weigh up cows sold on mostly good demand throughout the week as packers searched for offerings for immediate harvest. Packers pushed feeding buyers throughout the week as they attempted to gather as many cows as possible. Slaughter cows sold mostly 3.00-4.00 higher on boning and lean cows, breaking cows sold 5.00-7.00 higher in a narrow comparison. Fleshy cows sold on the best demand this week as both feeding buyers and packer buyers both showed very good demand for these offerings. Weigh up conditions were mostly average this week offering buyers and sellers fair weigh up conditions. Feeding cows were too lightly test to trend as packers absorbed most of the cow offering for harvest, however higher undertones were noticed. Cow quality this week was average to attractive. Slaughter bulls sold mostly 3.00-4.00 higher. Young cows suitable to re-breed

sold on moderate demand this week. These offerings were too lightly tested to develop an accurate market trend, however steady to higher undertones were noticed.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Montana barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
