Even with the downturn of the market prices are still very impressive and stick out sales this week included 35 head of 495 lb. steers at F&T Livestock which brought 497.50. South Central Regional Stockyards sold a package of 518 lb. steers for 492.50. Callaway Livestock Center sold a load of 601 lb. steers for 458.00. Windsor Livestock Auction sold a load of 704 lb. steers for 407.50. Joplin Regional Stockyards sold 31 head of 754 lbs. steers for 383.00 and 195 head of 915 lb. steers for 352.00. Unionville Livestock Market sold 4 loads of steers from 873-882 lbs. that sold from 362.00-366.00. On the heifer side of the market 28 head of 508 lb. heifers at Kingsville Livestock Market brought 448.00. Windsor Livestock Auction sold 160 head of 661 lb. heifers for 394.00. Unionville Livestock sold 24 head of 747 lb. heifers for 384.00. Boxed beef cutout values continued to move lower for the week. Choice closed on Friday at 400.04 down 10.72 and select closed at 378.44, down 6.75 compared to last Friday. Negotiated feedlot sales as of the 2:00 cutoff time on Friday afternoons report totaled just under 54K head for the week. Trade started the week on Tuesday much lower with the future market sell off, however even with the lower futures markets for the week prices added back a couple of dollars late week. Live sales in all regions were reported at 237.00 to mostly 240.00 and dresses sales 375.00-380.00. The Missouri Stocker formula consists of 5950 head with a weighted average weight of 549.06 lbs. and a price value of 427.25, 9.58 lower than last week. The steer/heifer spread is 42.92.
