Compared to last week feeders sold firm to 6.00 higher. The supply of feeders was moderate to heavy. There continues to be several loads of yearlings sold around the state at various actions. Demand for feeders was moderate to good. Discounts continue to be applied to calves with short or no weaning programs but they are not nearly as severe as what was being applied a month ago. Colder weather is helping to straighten these calves out and make them a little less risky to own. Receipts have picked up a bit now by no means giant but this week was the biggest seen in a while. Boxed beef cutouts rose sharply as holiday demand creeps up compared to last Friday choice closed Thursday up 5.09 at 238.29 and select was up 9.51 at 213.02. Feedlot sales have been very limited for the week as of this report a few live sales mostly at 114.00 dressed sales mostly 181.00-182.00. Friday’s Missouri Stocker Formula consists of 6608 head with a weighted average of 547.66 lbs. and a price value of 153.85, which is 3.65 higher than last Friday.
