Compared to last week, steer and heifers calves were too lightly tested for a market comparison. Yearling steers sold 6.00 to 8.00 lower and yearling heifers sold 8.00 to 10.00 lower. Slaughter cows sold mostly steady to 2.00 higher and slaughter bulls sold 5.00 lower. Bred cows sold fully steady on comparable offerings. Demand was moderate to good. Cattle prices a little lower across the state mostly due to the fluctuations in the CME cattle boards throughout the week. Negotiated cash feedlot traded didn't take place until late Friday morning with live sales trading 2.00 to 3.00 lower at mostly 240.00. Silage choppers continue to roll with some high moisture corn started going to the pit. Busy time of year with fall harvest going on, hay production finishing up on their last cutting of hay getting ready to move over to cane and other secondary forages and cattlemen delivering pre-sold lots to the buyers or just taking them to the auction.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Kansas barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
