Compared to last week, steer calves under 500 lbs sold 10.00 to 12.00 higher; 500-800 lbs 5.00 to 10.00 lower; over 800 lbs 2.00 to 6.00 higher. Heifers calves under 600 lbs sold 5.00 to 10.00 higher in a light test; 600 to 750 lbs sold 3.00 to 5.00 lower; over 750 lbs steady to 5.00 higher. Slaughter cows and bulls sold 1.00 to 4.00 lower. Demand was moderate to good. Negotiated cash feedlot traded steady at mostly 240.00. This past week, demand was light, and prices were steady. Trade remains slow to moderate. More rain this week continued to make it difficult for producers to get into their fields, with some having crops taken out by hail. There continues to be a lot of forage available, from this year and last, and producers are wanting to get rid of inventory.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Kansas barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
