Heifers under 700 lbs not well tested; 700 to 900 lbs sold 7.00 to 15.00 higher; over 900 lbs 3.00 to 5.00 higher. Demand was good to very good. Slaughter cows and bulls sold steady to 3.00 higher. Feedlot trading reported in Kansas sold earlier in the week at 225.00 and by the end of the week the market moved to 235.00. Again this week, feedlot trading in Kansas marked record high prices. This past week in the hay market, , demand was light, trade was moderate, and prices were steady. With scattered storms across the state, many regions have gotten an abundance of rain, making the outlook for the second cutting of alfalfa very optimistic. There has been very little movement of new crop alfalfa and continued movement of old crop and grass hay.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Kansas barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
