Compared to last week steers under 800 lbs were not well tested; over 800 lbs sold 3.00 to 8.00 higher. Heifers under 650 lbs not well tested; over 650 lbs sold 3.00 to 7.00 higher. Demand was moderate to good. Slaughter cows and bulls sold 4.00 to 5.00 higher. Feedlot trading reported in Kansas sold at 222.00 to 223.00, mostly 222.00. This past week in the hay market, demand was light, trade was moderate, and prices were steady, on limited test. There have been no new crop contracts made, as everyone seems to be holding out for test results and an increase in supply. Grass hay still seems to be in abundance, and old crop grinding alfalfa continues to move.
