Compared to last week steers and heifers under 700 lbs were not well tested, however a lower undertone noted ahead of the Memorial Day holiday. Steers and heifers over 700 lbs sold steady to 5.00 higher. Demand was moderate to good. Slaughter cows and bulls sold steady. Light feedlot trading reported in Kansas sold at mostly 219.00 to 221.00 . This past week in the hay market, , demand was light, trade was slow to moderate, and prices were steady, on limited test. New crop pricing remains elusive, new crop hay is hitting the ground in some locations and with the warmer temps and dryer conditions, producers have been very busy in the fields. Grass hay still seems to be in abundance, and old crop grinding alfalfa continues to move.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Kansas barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
