Compared to last week steers and heifers sold mostly 4.00 to 10.00 lower. Demand was moderate to good. Slaughter cows and bulls sold steady to 2.00 higher. Feedlot trading reported in Kansas sold steady to 2.00 higher at 220.00, another record setting price for fed cattle in Kansas. This past week in the hay market, demand was light, trade was slow, and prices were steady, on limited test. New crop pricing remains elusive, while new crop hay is ready to hit the ground in some locations and with the warmer temps and dryer conditions, producers will be getting after it. Grass hay still seems to be in abundance, while we have put a dent in old crop grinding alfalfa inventories.
