Compared to last week, no comparison is available for feeder steers and heifers due to the very heavy offering of feeder cattle this week. Slaughter cows sold uneven; breakers sold 1.00 to 2.00 higher, boners and leans 8.00 to 10.00 higher. Slaughter bulls sold 3.00 to 5.00 lower. Demand was reported throughout the state as good. Compared to last week, fed slaughter steers and heifers in the feed yards sold steady at 180.00. In the hay market, demand remains slow, and trade activity is slow to moderate. Grinding alfalfa and ground and delivered alfalfa prices have tumbled due to the quantity of rained on hay, with low testing hay moving to the grinder market. Higher quality alfalfa has retained its value. Grass hay prices continue to rise in some areas due to lower yields.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Kansas barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
